Pet Strollers / Trailers
A. Yes, they sure do.
A. There are many reasons why people buy pet strollers; here are a few reasons:
a) They are a ‘sophisticated wheel chair for petsTM’
b) Your pet may have a special condition and you want to continue their lifestyle with pride and dignity.
Special conditions may include:
i. arthritis
ii. recent operation
iii. aged condition
iv. leg injury
v. heart murmur
vi. respiratory issues
vii. blindness
viii. deafness
ix. anything that deprives them of that quality walk.
c) Pets with special conditions need to make frequent trips to the vet. Owners that don’t have a car or have larger pets understand how difficult a simple vet visit can be. It is not easy for owners to hold their pet or place them in a pet cage without straining their back.
d) Smaller pets can now go for longer walks while you maintain your own active lifestyle; no more carrying your pet on the way back home.
e) Allows immobile pets to take breaks as required while continuing an active lifestyle. Walk, rest, walk, rest.
f) They assist pets that have lost or were born with some sort of vision impairment or hearing problem. When traveling to new or crowded areas the stroller can assist with the pet’s fragile state or vulnerability to accidents.
g) Some pets don’t walk as far as you would like. Your pet can take breaks when they get tired and then keep walking when ready. They no longer will miss out on their daily walks.
h) Assists with socialising your puppy or kitten. We’ve also been told puppies that sleep in their stroller don’t cry at night.
i) Increase your pet’s visual stimulation.
j) You want your cat to be a part of the outside lifestyle.
k) To avoid crowded areas where pets can be injured or attacked. Enjoy your outings knowing that your pet is safe.
l) Great for show dogs as you can also use the stroller as a carrier for your own items. Your pet will also be protected from other pets.
m) Rather than physically carrying a cage or your pet, a pet stroller can assist with transportation; they are compactable and light weight.
n) Owners caring for a physically challenged pet now manage their pet more easily without putting physical strain on their body.
o) Hot weather conditions makes walking difficult for pets; the stroller will aid as support when it gets too hot.
p) A great way to meet people…watch how many people will be interested.
q) You want to take your pet/s literally everywhere with you.
r) Because you love your pet/s unconditionally.
s) And…you don’t care what people may think!
A. When it is convenient for you and your pet. If planning to buy a puppy or kitten you can have it ready for when they arrive and ensure they get used to it as young pets. For those older pets, we recommend that it is purchased before they get to the “too old” stage. For example, if your pet starts slowing down and feels tired more quickly, then this would be a good time to invest in a pet stroller. They can exercise and rest without putting physical strain on them.
A. Yes. Our pet stroller and pet trailers fold flat for ease of storage and transportation. The pet strollers basically collapse like a baby stroller. The pet trailers have side panels which fold flat in the middle. Ensure the product you are interested in will fit in the boot of your car. The Pet trailer is slightly bigger so be sure that the measurements would fit if you have a small vehicle.
A. Most of our strollers have carrier baskets; usually located under the bottom of the stroller. Strollers / trailers that do not have a basket have a pouch; including the Large Strollers/Trailers (Jog Mobile and Pet Mobile), Street Stopper and Double Strollers.
A. Firstly ensure the pet stroller / trailer will carry your pet’s weight. Then check the inner carrier measurements including height, length, and width and confirm your pet will fit inside comfortably. You can do this by drawing the measurements with chalk on the floor or using masking tape on the ground; get your pet to lay or sit in the drawn measurements.
We also recommend that if your pet is small but on the heavier side (close to the maximum weight capacity) consider going up to the next model. If unsure at any stage please feel free to ask us for advice. Decide on the style and colour which is also your personal preference.
If you need any advice in selecting the right stroller for you and your pet, please contact us. We are more than happy to help.
A. Give your pet time to adjust to the new change. This is unfamiliar territory for them. As the owner of your pet, you are in the best position to judge when your pet is ready for their first outing. Some tips to ensure your pet adjusts more quickly are noted below:
· Leave the pet stroller / trailer near them so they can sniff around; don’t forget to put the brakes on so there is limited movement. Possibly leave some treats or their favourite blanket or toy inside.
· Stroll around indoors, with or without your pet, if room permits.
· If you think your pet is ready to be pushed in a stroller go for a short stroll and monitor their reaction. If they are comfortable then continue on, if not try again another day. Never force them to go for a stroll unless they are ready.
· Virtually all pets will be comfortable and eventually will demand their stroller outing.
A. Not all pet strollers have a wind/rain cover attachment. The 3 wheeler pet strollers (3 wheeler cruiser and Heavy Duty 3 wheeler) have a separate accessory - wind/rain cover. The large pet strollers / trailers (Jog Mobile and Pet Mobile) have this feature as a part of the pet stroller / trailer.
A. Wind / rain covers are great if you plan to use your pet stroller / trailer on days that are cold, windy or wet. The cover serves the same purpose as a baby stroller wind / rain protector. It is an excellent accessory to have in colder seasons.
A. Any pet can benefit from a pet stroller / trailer. Pets include dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, mice, rats…practically any pet that does not require water. We have even had joeys use them!
A. The main difference is the carrier capacity, quality and wheels. If you are the type of person that enjoys long daily walks the heavy duty 3 wheeler will be longer lasting. Also, if your pet weighs close to the 15 kg maximum weight capacity we recommend going for the next model up, i.e. the 3 wheeler heavy duty pet stroller. The heavy duty pet stroller has a stronger frame, back wheel suspension and wheels that can be used on rough terrain.
A. This depends on whether you walk on well maintained sidewalks or rough surfaces including, cracked pavement, grass, rough terrain. If you walk on rough surfaces then the larger wheels would be a better alternative. If you walk on normal sidewalks then all our stroller range will be suitable. Products with larger wheels, stronger frames, and shock absorbers will give your pet a safer and more comfortable ride on rough terrain.
A. The 3 wheeler heavy duty pet stroller comes with the option of EVA wheels (heavy duty plastic) or the air filled tyres (just like a normal bike tyre). When deciding on the type of wheels consider whether you would want to take tyres to a bike shop if you happen to puncture them. The EVA wheels have a back wheel suspension so the comfort of the ride will be the same.
A. Certain pet strollers have a peep hole feature. The peep hole can be made by either mesh or material. Both features allow the pet to view outside the pet stroller. Both allow you to place your hand inside the stroller when unzipped. The main difference between the two is that the mesh peep hole will allow the pet to see outside the stroller while lying down, whereas the material peep hole allows the pet less viewing while lying down, unless unzipped.
We recommend the material peep hole be used for cats and those pets that are movement sensitive. The mesh versus material option is for the 3 wheeler pet stroller designs. All other pet strollers are made from the mesh peep hole feature.
A. Both models are two in one; a pet stroller and pet trailer.
The Jog Mobile is designed for the taller / larger dog, such as rottweiler, shepherd, labroder. While the Pet Mobile is better suited for the small to medium sized dog, such as the kelpie, border collie, blue heeler, staffie. The Pet Mobile also has more features including, embossed mesh ventilation on the sides, front, back and top of the stroller/trailer, brakes on the handle bar, frame around wheels, rain cover with zip, and flag to name a few.
A. The 3 in 1 stroller is multi functional; it can be converted from a stroller to a carrier bag, as well as a car seat. This model has shoulder straps that attach to the compartment for easy carrying and can then be placed around the car seat for security in a vehicle. The size of this pet stroller is suitable only for smaller pets.
Another style which can be used as a pet travel bag is the CT30 models.
A. When all zips are closed the pet cannot jump out of the stroller while you stroll them along. For added security consider using the built in leashes found in all pet strollers / trailers.
A. Those strollers with three wheels rather than four (for stability) are better suited for jogging purposes. Strollers with large wheels and shock absorbers will provide the stability and mobility you need for jogging speed.
A. We do not recommend using a child stroller for a pet. The child stroller is designed for the child, while a pet stroller is designed for a pet. Child strollers would not be comfortable for a pet and could potential be doing them more harm than good. For example if they have a leg problem being curled up in the child stroller is not giving their leg room to move whereas the pet stroller has a flat base allowing your pet to lay and move in comfort.
A. The answer depends on which shopping centre you visit. To be sure you should check with your local shopping centre management.
A. Yes, as long as your pet is confined it will be fine. You can also confirm with your local transportation company to be sure.
